This two-day workshop, co-organized by UPEC and UNIL, explores how artificial intelligence is developed, applied, and governed across research, education, and public institutions. The first day focuses on AI in practice, including tools for teaching, AI-assisted research, and the challenges of large-scale infrastructures, as well as issues of explainability, bias, and trust. The second day addresses the broader societal dimensions of AI, covering ethics, sustainability, legal frameworks, and technological sovereignty. Bringing together researchers, practitioners, and policymakers, the workshop aims to foster interdisciplinary dialogue on the responsible development and use of AI.
